Empowery Academy Financial Information
Springs Empower Academy is committed to clear, accessible financial transparency as a public charter school serving Smyrna and the surrounding community. We publish board‑approved budgets, annual audit reports, and key financial statements so families, staff, and community partners can see how public funds are stewarded to support students.
Approved Annual Budget
Each year, our Board of Directors reviews and approves an annual operating budget for Springs Empower Academy. This budget outlines expected revenues and planned expenditures for the fiscal year, aligned to our mission and academic priorities.
You can view the current, board‑approved budget below. When budget amendments are approved during the year, updated versions will be posted here to reflect the most recent information.
Annual Independent Financial Audit
As a Tennessee public charter school, Springs Empower Academy undergoes an annual independent financial audit conducted by a certified public accounting firm. The audit reviews our financial statements and internal controls, and the final report is submitted to our authorizer and state agencies in accordance with Tennessee requirements.
We publish our most recent completed audit below and may also provide prior years so that stakeholders can review trends over time.
Annual Financial Report
In addition to the annual audit, Springs Empower Academy prepares an annual financial report summarizing revenues, expenditures, and funding sources for the year. This report supports our annual progress reporting to our authorizer and state agencies and provides a clear, high‑level view of how funds are invested in our school.
Where the audit report already includes this information, it may serve as our annual financial report. When a separate report is required or produced, it will be posted here.
Monthly Financial Statements
To further support transparency, Springs Empower Academy posts key monthly financial statements for the current fiscal year. These reports provide more detailed insight into our financial position and activity throughout the year.
Typical monthly statements include:
Statement of Activities – Shows monthly revenues and expenses and the net increase or decrease in net assets.
Balance Sheet – Presents assets, liabilities, and net position as of the end of each month.
Statement of Cash Flows – Summarizes cash inflows and outflows and changes in cash balances.
Monthly reports are organized by fiscal year and month so families and stakeholders can easily follow along.
